Mark Dickson has always been an ambitious man, with a plan to drive his own destiny. Instead of simply finding the right vehicle to do achieve this with, he chose to turn vehicles into the means to this end, launching his own company – All Transport Needs (ATN).A transport and logistics business that targets the SME market, ATN saves customers up to 30% or more of the cost of a new vehicle, selling late model, bank financeable vehicles that are both mechanically and cosmetically refurbished.Although obtaining good, reliable stock is always a challenge, Mark nonetheless hopes to have at least five ATN agencies nationwide by 2017. This, he says, would be a massive step forward for a company he has built from the ground up, after finding the right niche and supporting it with the right technology and processes.Mark adds that his ultimate goal is to create a business that is a household name and is respected in the industry it serves. To achieve this, he would like to develop better relationships with investors and financiers, with big fleet operators, banks, insurance companies and with truck, trailer and bus manufacturers.Mark says that he foresees ATN’s final destination as being more than just countrywide representation in all the major South African centres; he dreams of selling trucks, trailers and buses into the rest of Africa as well. Moreover, by using technology and processes to make the existing company more efficient and productive, coupled with strong enough cash flow to purchase large parcels of vehicles, he is confident of this happening sooner, rather than later.
