Larry Shakinovsky believes his business can floor any customer, and he proves this adage by supplying affordable, high quality, flexible access flooring systems to unique niche markets, through his company, Pentafloor. Pentafloor, he explains, manufactures access floors and distributes SHAW carpet and vinyl, as well as the Novalis vinyl range. In addition, it supplies the CMD range of monitor arms and cable management systems. The customers he targets are design professionals, space planners, developers and listed property companies. Larry points out that Pentafloor is a Proudly South African business and as such, all its raw materials are sourced locally. Moreover, with ‘green’ construction becoming more commonplace - and often being demanded by customers – Pentafloor has reconginsed this trend, ensuring that all its products contribute to the Green Building Movement. He suggests that the business is able to supply customers with the full gamut, from individual components to everything required for a mega-project, including special requirements, in a short period of time. The company also supplies flooring products for the healthcare sector and the hospitality industry, as he sees these as a way of broadening the range and diversity of his customer base. Larry believes that his past experience, both as a used car dealer and in the mining, buying and selling of diamonds has made him street-smart and means he doesn’t take things at face value. This, he states, will stand him in good stead as he takes the company to the next level, build its brands and expanding on a global scale. He is particularly keen on being recognised in the UK, Europe and Middle East and says he would ultimately like to list the company on the stock exchange.
